First topic message reminder :

1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships
with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan,
as one day you may meet them in battle.

2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.

3. Elder, Queens and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors.
Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have
hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or
injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.

4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.

7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.

9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

10. A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts
for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.

11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

12. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.

13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.

14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win
his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is
necessary for self-defense.

15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

If we follow the warrior code we will be safe

She smiled down at him kindly. "Alright, do you want to head in for the day? Or continue?"

She laughed at his eagerness, bouncing back to her cheerful self. "Lets see, where did we leave off.." She thought for a moment. "Lets work on scenting." She demonstrated the open mouthed technique for scenting. "Just like that. Now you try, and tell me what you scent."

He opened his mouth as Silent had, scenting the air. "Well, I smell... Flickerstar, Spottedpaw, and you... many other cats I don't know of.

She laughed and nodded. "Many cats have been here. Very good Beepaw, now well try catching prey for real." She scented the air and located a mouse hanging around near by, she broke its neck quickly and sat it in front of Beepaw. "Did you catch all that? Now you can try, just use what youve learned."

His eyes widened slightly, amazed how quickly she had made a kill. "Okay." Nodding, Beepaw scented the air as he had learned. He thought he scented a squirrel, not far away.

She smiled and watched, curious as to how well the young tom would do.

Taking a deep breath, Beepaw concentrated on where the furry creature was. Advancing forward, he crouched down as he could smell the squirrel more. Seeing the squirrel, he watched it. It was busy collecting food. Beepaw crouched even lower, afraid the squirrel would see him and run away. He took one more step, crunching down on a crinkled leaf. Without thinking, he leaped into the air and surprisingly pounced onto the squirrel. Snapping the neck as he was taught, he proudly lifted the squirrel up.

She laughed, proud of him. "Great job Beepaw! You did excellently. Now, I should mention that you should try to be down wind of your prey so they cant scent you." She smiled encouragingly. "Youre still a bit rocky but with some practice youll become an amazing hunter." She nodded half to herself. "I want you to train your hunting a little every day. Could you catch something else? Then we can head back to camp and you can rest. Well work on fighting tomorrow."

He smiled happily, glad of his mentor's praise. Nodding, Beepaw sniffed the air once more.

She patiently waited, keeping quiet so she wouldnt scare any prey away.

His ears pricked, smelling... mouse. Beepaw crouched low, making sure he was downwind. He walked forward, his paws light to the ground this time. He didn't want to make the same mistake. Finally, he spotted the small mouse. Pouncing atop the creature, Beepaw killed the mouse.

He nodded back happily, picking up his mouse and squirrel. Beepaw dashed after his mentor.
