DuskClan Nursery

First topic message reminder :


This is the DuskClan nursery. Inside, it's quite warm inside, and there's actually some light inside. Kits may be around the tree playing catch with moss balls,sleeping, or simply just talking together.

She blinked, bringing Juniper close to her. Ashstar wrapped her tail around him in comfort. "It's okay..." Mews quietly.

Juniper pulls away not used to being comforted by the big cats. He paws at the tail softly batting it off of him and pins it down under him.

She laughed quietly, watching with slight amusement.

Juniper looks up confused at the sound. "are you my momma?"

She sighed lightly then meowed, "No, I'm not your momma. But the clan is your family, and will take care of you." Smiling, she blinked at the kit.

Tilting his head confused, Juniperkit asks, "but all the other kits have mommas. where my momma?" he waits impatiently for the answer, sitting up tall.

She thought. "We... we don't know." Ashstar admitted.

Juniperkit drops his ears down upset. "you lost momma?"

She bit her tongue, before sighing. "Juniperkit, we... we don't know where she is. We haven't seen her before." Ashstar frowned, never really thinking about where the kit's mother could even be. She licked his head, not knowing what else to say.

Juniperkit jumps startled from the lick unable to see it coming. He hisses instinctively jumping to his paws trying to figure out what happened.

She blinked at him, "It's okay, it's only me."

Juniper turns his ears toward her voice "What that?" he asked pawing at the wetness on his head not sure what happened, having never been licked before. He didn't like not knowing things, it made him feel lost...

"Well, it's called licking. Cats do it to clean or comfort, even. It makes some cats feel good." Ashstar smiled.

Juniper crinkles his little nose in distaste. "It's icky" he decides laying down. He sucks on his paw teething feeling tired from all the emotions having run through him.

Laughing quietly she watched the kit, wondering what everything must be like to him.

Juniper closes his eyes falling asleep, his little chest rising and falling evenly. He curls up tightly shivering in his sleep not used to being out of the nursery in the exposed air.

She watched him shiver, before deciding to lie down next to him. Careful not to bump into the sleeping kit, she lied close so he would be warmer.

The kit sleeps absorbing the warmth he slowly stops shivering uncurling from his tense ball. He sighs in his sleep having some dream he wouldn't remember when he woke up.

She closed her eyes momentarily, thinking about what had happened on such a short time. Becoming leader,for one, and then this disaster. Had this happened to the other clans? Opening her eyes, she looked over the camp.

Juniper blinks waking up, he sneezes stretching out his paws. He stands up wandering around trying to figure out where he was. It still bothered him that he had no clue.

She watched him, standing up as well. Walking over to Juniper, she put her tail on his back. "Juniperkit, I could be just like your momma, if you'd like." Ashstar smiled slightly, blinking.

Juniper jumps startled by the sudden touch, he falls over step onto something, he wasn't sure what it was, but it sent some pain into his paw. He yowls lifting his paw in pain.

Her eyes widened slightly at the sudden action. She meowed quickly, "Juniperkit, what's wrong? Is your paw okay?" She leaned down, observing it.

Juniper licks his paw finding some sticky stuff on it, he frowns at the salty unpleasant taste and licks some more trying to get it off his paw but it was like his paw was leaking it out. The sticky stuff got stuck on his nose and muzzle, it smelt unpleasant.

She saw what it was. "Oh dear." Ashstar whispered, meowing to him, "Juniperkit, you stay calm. I'll be right back." Ashstar dashed into the medicine cat den, scanning around for cobwebs. She picked some up, running back out into the clearing. Putting the cobwebs down and onto his paw, she meowed, "It'll be okay, this will just help your paw."
