Hunting

Sunstar padded into the forest silently. Her paws barely make a sound as they hit the leaves on the forest floor. She raised her muzzled up and smelled the air around. The wind was blowing at her giving her the scents of a raven, mice and a squirrel or two. She decided the raven was closest and looked around for it. The raven sat a the base of a sapling oak picking food from the ground. Sunstar advanced on the unsuspecting bird. She rocked back and forth on her haunches before she sprung. As she landed her paw fell on either side and she nipped its neck killing it. Happy with her first catch she buried it under some leaves and went searching for the mice. She stalked silently just for a short while went she saw them at the big roots of a full grown oak tree. There was two. And she wanted them both. Seeing that the mice were sitting between two oak roots that rose from the ground she decided she would have to trap the mice or have a bit of luck. She couldn't come straight forward at them so trapping them was out. Sunstar decided on luck and hid on the other side of the oak root. When the time was right Sunstar leaped and landed on one mouse s tail. She killed that one just after it made a small squeak. And the other her paw landed on perfectly killing it instantly. She buried her catch next to the oak roots where they were kill and looked for the squirrels. No soon than she looked did she see just one sitting on a log keeping watch for the rest of the squirrels. Its back was turned to her. Easy catch Sunstar thought. She zoomed across the forest floor barely making a sound, she leaped at the squirrel killing it before she hit the ground. She picked her catch up and the rest of them too and head back to camp.

he pads up a rabbit in his jaws. he smiles at the new cat and dips his head in greeting

Gingerpaw turns her attention to Shadowfoot. She smiles slightly, her whiskers twitching. "Nice to meet you, SHadowfoot."

"Always nice to make a new friend-" He turns his head suddenly to look around to find nothing there. "Huh. Could have sworn i saw an old friend." He chuckles as he looks back towards his clanmates.

Gingerpaw flattens her ears, confused by the tom. "Hm.."

he pads up to his new appretice and smiles and says hello im foxspark

Gingerpaw quickly looks away from Shadowfoot to Foxspark. "Hi~!" She takes a step foward, only to jingle the bell slung around her neck. "..If I am to be a true clan cat, should this be removed..?" She looks to everycat for an answer.

she nods "it will only chase the prey away"

"here" i say hooking my claws around the thing and slices it off her neck "now your a clan cat" smiles and sits

She looks as the collar falls to the ground, a glitter of sadness flickering through her eyes. "Forgive me.." She mutters to her clanmates as she picks up the collar and ventures to a tree. She places the collar at the base of the tree and returns.

he frowns slightly but replaces it with a smirk. "ready to go to camp?" he asks standing up

Gingerpaw quickly perks up at the sound of the camp. "Sure!"

LionPaw stalks out from behind a tree, the scents of FoxSpark, HollowSong, Shadowfoot and an unknown cat crackle in the air. Then he spots the torn collar at the base of a tree. A kittypet? His Clanmates were inviting kittypet into the Clan? LionPaw shook his golden head. Hunting now, politics later. He crouches down....

Shadowfoot lets his clan-mates advance without him. With one last look to the forest, he mutters "Thank you Lostcloud." He dips his head, for once not smiling, and stalks the way his friends had gone.

he sits eyes closed flicking his tail

Gingerpaw trots up behind her mentor, looking up at him.

"gingerpaw what do you smell" he asks

She blinks and opens her mouth a bit. "...You...and.." She sniffs a little. "Mouse..?" She looks up to her mentor, wondering if she's right or not.

nods "good" opens my eyes and goes inot a hunters crouch "copy me gingerpaw" he says

Gingerpaw looks at Foxspark, almost confused, then crouches down. She moves her paws around for a second or two to match his.

he stands up and inspects her crouch. pins her tail down. "keep your tail down and sticking straight out not up" he says chuckling

"Oh..okay.." She lowers her tail, then looks back to inspect herself. "Like that?"

"perfect" he says. "now pull forward paw in front of paw"

She nods and starts to creep forward. Out of habit, she lifts a paw to her throat, as if trying to silence a bell on her neck. Realizing she was rid of it, she sets her paw back down and begins to creep again, setting her paws down rather noisly.
