Star is Wondering

A white and russet she-cat wondered around in the forest. She knew the Clans didn't live here, and was looking for a place to relax.

Shard followed close behind her sister "Hrmmmm~"

Star looked around, basically oblivious to the dangers that could be lurking around them.

Shard took a step forward and her paw fell through the ground. She yowled loudly in shock. She pulled her paw out and looked inside seeing a deep crack in the ground previously covered up by a few leaves "I wonder if there are more of these?"

Star twisted around and looked at Shard. "Are you hurt?" She inspected her paw, then bent down and looked at the crack. "Mm.. I sure hope not. We could break our paws walking on this." She looked around.

"It's fine" Shard looked around "We should be really careful just in case" She walked forwards slowly, testing the ground a little before each new step.

"I hope we don't run into anymore trouble." She went ahead of her sister, testing the ground quickly, not wanting to slow down. She wondered what else could be out here. It didn't seem to be the friendliest place ever, but she suspected her un-trusting nature was behind those thoughts.

Shard kept walking cautiously forward, slowly getting used to testing her weight on the ground. Suddenly she stood on the hind legs to try to see better in the distance. "Noah theres like a giant crack in the ground."

Star blinked, turning around. She stood on her hind legs too, trying to keep her balance. Her eyes widened when she saw the crack. "Perhaps we should go in a different direction. Trying to steady herself on her hind legs, she shifted her hind paws into several different positions. "Ouch!!" She yowled as she lost her footing suddenly, falling into a large crevice. It was hidden, unseen because of the position of the ground.

"STAR!!!!" Shard yowled as she looked into the crevice

It wasn't very deep, only about four feet down, but wider the further down. "I'm okay!" She looked up, but couldn't see a way to climb. "I don't know how to get up!"

Shard leaned further in to look around "Thank goodness you are okay.. How do we get you out of- THERE!!" she screeched as the ground fell away at her feet and she fell into the crevice too.

Star scooted away to avoid the rocks that fell, and her sister. "Shard are you ok?!" She rushed to her sisters side.

"I'm just a bit sore." she shook the dust from her pelt and looked up and around the crevice, trying to find a clawhold or two.

"Good thing you're not broken." She blinked and looked up and down the crevice. "I guess we'll just have to make our way along the crevice. It's not so high to jump... But it's so narrow, and the top looks so sharp. We could cut our paws. Let's see if we can't find our way out."

She rubbed against her sister. "We'll get out" Shard continued closely inspecting the rocky crevice for clawholds

Star nodded and padded forward, along the bottom of the crevice. It went in the direction they were walking, deeper into unknown territory.
