Hunting

Sunstar padded into the forest silently. Her paws barely make a sound as they hit the leaves on the forest floor. She raised her muzzled up and smelled the air around. The wind was blowing at her giving her the scents of a raven, mice and a squirrel or two. She decided the raven was closest and looked around for it. The raven sat a the base of a sapling oak picking food from the ground. Sunstar advanced on the unsuspecting bird. She rocked back and forth on her haunches before she sprung. As she landed her paw fell on either side and she nipped its neck killing it. Happy with her first catch she buried it under some leaves and went searching for the mice. She stalked silently just for a short while went she saw them at the big roots of a full grown oak tree. There was two. And she wanted them both. Seeing that the mice were sitting between two oak roots that rose from the ground she decided she would have to trap the mice or have a bit of luck. She couldn't come straight forward at them so trapping them was out. Sunstar decided on luck and hid on the other side of the oak root. When the time was right Sunstar leaped and landed on one mouse s tail. She killed that one just after it made a small squeak. And the other her paw landed on perfectly killing it instantly. She buried her catch next to the oak roots where they were kill and looked for the squirrels. No soon than she looked did she see just one sitting on a log keeping watch for the rest of the squirrels. Its back was turned to her. Easy catch Sunstar thought. She zoomed across the forest floor barely making a sound, she leaped at the squirrel killing it before she hit the ground. She picked her catch up and the rest of them too and head back to camp.

"light foot falls" he whispers

Gingerpaw nods and focuses on her paws landing lightly. She tries to move all her weight onto her toes, but ends up lifting her tail in the process.

the mouse darts away seeing gingerpaws tail. he shakes his head and sighs "almost gingerpaw almost"

Gingerpaw slides down to her belly and pouts. "aww.." She sighs.

"its ok how about we go back to the training hollow for combat training?" he says

"Wait..!" She stands back up. "I wanna get this hunting thing down..! What good am I if I can fight, but can't hunt? It's not like everyday the clan gets attacked..but the clan comes first right? So I need to do my part and feed my clan members."

"for now were going to stop. we can try in the morning its quiet and easier to master hunting" he says

She frowns then scowls a bit, looking away. "Fine.."

"Unless you want to go back now" he inquires

"No!" Her fur puffs out, then lies back down. "I wanna learn at least /somthing/ today..!"

lays down in front of her "it takes a while to get it. we can start tomorrow on hunting and combat today ok"

She sighs heavily, letting her head slump between her shoulder. "Okay.."

Nightwhisper goes out on her hunting patrol (I do post here right?)

Hollow runs onto the hunting grounds

she smiles "Hi"

Shadowfoot runs into a shrub near the lake after running for awhile. He watches quietly, intent on finding a Hammerdandy. Completely oblivious to the water, he waits. He hears a noise and his ears swivel around behind him. He turns quickly and pounces, before giving it a thought. He bites into the neck of something slick and realizes he didn't catch a Hammerdandy but a Fowlafop! He squeals happily and drags the carcass back to DuskClan. It was heavy and slick but he was a strong cat, despite his frail look. He continued dragging the green headed, yellow beaked, webb toed Fowlafop happily.
(Don't mind Shadowfoot. He's insane. He can use made-up names for creatures!)

she stares and follows :3

He spots her "Aww! I wath suposth thoo be a surpristh!" He let go of the Fowlafop. I couldn't find a HammerDandy. This Fowlafop is close but Hammerdandys are much bigger and white and they go HROOOONK!!! Fowlafops just go QRUUAAAAARCK." He grinned.

she realized what he meant "Ohh yes" she grinned "Thats really amazing"

"Care to share?" he purred deeply as he picked the Fowlafop up by its lengthy neck and began dragging it the rest of the way to DuskClan.

She smiled "No, its a lot. Share it with the apprentices"

He pouted "Awww but I caught it for you! You have to have at least one bite! Fowlafop is amazing~ You have no idea how close to the water I got- a few Blastermaff's away! One bite. Fowlafop is a rare treat." He shoved its face in hers "Eat it!"

she laughs "Ok ok...one bite. But the rest goes to the clan. That includes you" she takes a bite and nearly falls over "I-its amazing" :O oh face XD
